THE AUTHOR

Darcey Comeau lives in Mid-coast Maine. She has two grown children: one in the workforce and the other studying Environmental Studies in college. This and many other stores were the result of bedtime stories she created for her children. When her daughter turned 18 and shared that she wanted she and her mother to both get dinosaur tattoos in honor of the stories, Darcey knew they had made an impact. Darcey’s tattoo includes pieces of the story. This led to the telling of this story to friends and even strangers who asked about it. After much encouragement from those listeners, the story has come to life. To create the dinosaur names, Darcey used her children and loved ones’ names spelled backwards. In her free time, Darcey enjoys the Maine outdoors. You may find her skiing, hiking, kayaking or walking her dog in the neighborhood. Darcey has accumulated extensive material for her stories from her 26 years in education. Most of this time was spent teaching Special Education. Darcey is currently a Director of Special Education in a local school district. She also mentors new teachers and created and teaches a Special Education course for the University of Maine Presque Isle.
